Phra Ngan

Story:

Phra Ngan wears a gentle smile with a straight hat, bringing kindness to people.

However, during the destruction of the Ayutthaya Dynasty by the Burmese, they were kept protected inside the belly of the Buddha, soldiers were buried alive as the sacrifice.

Buddha statues were destroyed, changing the image of Phra Ngan, the hats they wore crooked, their eyes went reddish due to copper oxidization but some say it was sainted red from the blood of the soldiers who died. This resulted in people to name Phra Ngan as the Red-Eyed Phra Ngan now.
